What Should I Consider to Reduce the Chances that I will Need to Return My Order?

Customers are often concerned about return policies, as they should be. We wrote an article and recorded a video about return policies because we found that, unlike Modern Office, many online office furniture retailers have extremely restrictive return policies that make it all but impossible to return an order. Still, customers are looking for advice on how they can reduce the chance that they will need to return their furniture.

The number one reason for returning an office furniture order is due to the size of the furniture. In nearly every case it is because the furniture is too large for the space. Be sure to measure your room before finalizing your order. Consider that you will need a comfortable amount of space for people to walk around the furniture, and in most cases you'll need to allow for wheelchair space too. At least four feet of clearance is recommended to allow for chairs and aisles.

When planning to seat individuals around a conference table it's important to select the right size table. The general rule is that the length of the table in feet will correspond to the number of chairs you can place around the table -- an 8' table for 8 chairs, a 10' table for 10 chairs, a 12' table for 12 chairs, etc.

Be sure to consider the size of your room too. It's not unheard of for customers to mistakenly order a conference table that is longer than the inside of their room because they concentrated on how many people they wanted to seat and neglected to check how much space was available in the room. Marking off the floor with masking tape is a good way to envision how a conference table, office desk, or office chairs will fit in the space.

Use these simple suggestions to greatly reduce the chances that you will need to return your office furniture. As always, Modern Office is here to answer any questions you may have.
